Dr. Schnarrs Corner Breast Reduction

Breast reductions are today the most common functional procedures done for alleviation of excessive breast weight, shoulder grooving, neck and upper back pain, intertrigo ( skin infection under the breast) and Gigantomastia. Although most insurance companies do cover these procedures, they have to be medically indicated and require removal of a minimum of 500gms of breast tissue per breast in most cases. Most insurance companies set limits on the weight that the patient must be in order to qualify for coverage of a reduction procedure. They insist on the patient being less than 20% over the recommended weight for their height or show evidence of having attempted weight loss under supervision of a doctor or nutritionist.
